Jack Barker was riding for far more than just the class today in the first leg of the 2025 Stal Tops Young Rider Series – presented by Toti Equestrian. Jack was riding two Tulara horses, the legacy of Mark Fraser of Tulara Warmbloods, whom our Jumping community tragically lost this week.

Twenty three combinations took to the course for the first round which delivered 11 clears.

In a tightly contested jump off, Jack, who won the series in 2023 and 2024, was one of five double clears, securing both first and second place aboard Tulara On Trend and Tulara Colchic in 38.25 and 38.47 seconds respectively, while Charlie Magnier and Notre Dame de Bourgignon rounded out the podium in third place.

During the presentation, Jack payed tribute to Mark and the legacy of Tulara Warmbloods and gratefully accepted the lovely prizes donated by Toti Equestrian, a phone case and Toti cap.

After the class Jack said of his first two placings,”It feels amazing to have been 1st and second in the first leg of the Stal Top Series. I am very proud to have been able to win this class for Mark especially with his whole family here. My horses felt great and I am very happy with them.” 

“The prizes were great. We are very lucky to have the support of Toti Equestrian for this year’s series. I am grateful for the prizes.” 

When asked about his plans for the rest of the year, Jack said, “I would love to be able to get up to the Festival of Showjumping but it will take some convincing to get mum to take me with my year 12 commitments. But I will definitely be at Willinga and Summer Classic!”
