Excitement soars at Sydney Royal as we enter final two days
The 2025 Sydney Royal has already delivered spectacular sport and fierce competition in the Jumping arena, with standout performances across all sections in the lead-up to this weekend’s much-anticipated finals.
Jamie Winning-Kermond and Tulara Wat Colblensky have dominated Section 1, claiming a clean sweep of victories in Class 855, Class 856, and Class 858, proving themselves the pair to beat. These wins also earned Yandoo Equestrian both the Bob Chittick Memorial Perpetual Cup and the Jim Barnes Memorial Perpetual Trophy for the horse’s owner.
The final class of the section today saw this dominant combination just take one miss-step in the jump off – relegating them to fourth place in the final Section 1 class, but still giving them the David Asimus Memorial Perpetual Trophy for the Best Performed Section 1 Jumping Horse of the show.
Additional notable performances came from Amelia Douglass and Quel Filou 16, placing second in two classes and Amber Fuller and Cadenza NZPH, consistently placing, including a win today and making them the recipients of the 2025 EA Cup, awarded to the owner of the winning Horse in Class 857, the Section 1 Final.
